Dentico’s Dr Nichole Hendricks is making the effort to give to her community by feeding and clothing the less fortunate in Kuils River.

Dr Hendricks, who was born and raised in Kuils River, has always had a passion for serving her community.

This motivated her to start her own charity initiative – the Dentico Charity Drive, which had a successful launch earlier this year in August as it fed and clothed 125 people.

She hopes to continue this momentum when she runs the second installment on Saturday, 30 November 2019.

“Giving back to those in need is very important to me. Very often, I see people struggling in our streets. And not many, who have the means to help, are doing anything to lend a hand to those going through hard times,” said Dr Hendricks.

“One day, I found a man sleeping in the cold, on the pavement in front of my business. I decided to buy him some food. When I gave it to him, he reacted very emotionally. He told me that he had been praying for food for hours as he was very hungry but was too cold and hungry to move. He emphasised what a big difference this meal made.

“That really pulled on my heartstrings because faith plays a big role in my life. I was inspired to do more and that’s why I launched the Dentico Charity Drive.”

Dr Hendricks and her team at Dentico surgery in Kuils River will be collecting clothes and non-perishable foods in November, which they will use to clothe and feed the less fortunate on Saturday, 30 November.

“Our sponsors really played a big role in making the first Dentico Charity Drive a big success. We really appreciated all the donations,” said Dr Hendricks.

“Thanks to my Dentico staff for also playing a key role during the preparations and handouts. I hope more people will jump on board to give back to those in need – not only in Kuils River, but in all communities.”

If you are hoping to donate money, clothes or non-perishable foods to the Dentico Charity Drive, you can drop off your donations at their surgery at 2 Lang Street, Kuils River.

If you would like to assist on the day, feel free to meet the team at Dentico Surgery at 9AM on Saturday, 30 November.
